ප්රථම පාවෙන අවන්හල විවෘත වේ
The first floating reataurant in Sri Lanka was declared open by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The primary cost of the first-ever floating restaurant named “Pontoon North 8°” is 100 million.
Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary to the President, Lalith Weeratunga, Civil Aviation Service Minister, Piyankara Jayaratne, Sajin Vas Gunawardana, MP and Chairman John Keells, Susantha Ratnayake were also present at the event.
සංචාරක ක්ෂේත්රයේ දියුණුව උදෙසා ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ප්රථම වතාවට ඉදිකරන ලද පාවෙන අවන්හල කොළඹ, බේරේ වැවේ දී ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මැතිතුමා අතින් ඊයේ (19) විවෘත කෙරිණි.
සිනමන් ලේක් හෝටලයේ පූර්ණ අනුග්රහයෙන් ඉදිකළ මෙම පාවෙන අවහන්හල Pontoon North 8 නමින් හඳුන්වයි.
මෙම අවන්හල ඉදිකිරීම සඳහා වැය වී ඇති මූලික පිරිවැය රුපියල් මිලියන 100කි. මෙම පාවෙන අවන්හල දිගින් අඩි 70ක් වන අතර පළල අඩි 30කි. මෙහි එකවර පුද්ගලයන් 100කට ආහාරපාන ගැනීමේ පහසුකම් ඇති අතර උත්සව අවස්ථා සඳහා ද මෙම අවන්හල යොදාගත හැකිය.

Maathaa’ a film by the Sri Lankan renowned film Director Boodee Keerthisena based on the island’s 30 year conflict is on the making. The film is scheduled to hit the Sri Lankan wide-screen in January, 2010. The introduction ceremony of film ‘Matha’ was held today (Oct 09), at the Sri Lankan Rupavahini Corporation auditorium.
