Sandeshaya Sri Lanka – Sri Lankan Art of Actress Models Dancers Singers Beauties

OSCA Ridma Rayak presented by Outstanding Song Creators’ Association (OSCA) will be held at BMICH on August 29 at 6.30 p.m.

The much-awaited ‘OSCA Ridma Reyak’ musical concert organized by the Outstanding Song Creators Association (OSCA) will be held at the BMICH on August 29 at 6.30 p.m.

OSCA, headed by its founder Jayantha Dharmadasa, represents all artistes in the music field including lyricists, singers, music directors and musicians. OSCA has a membership of more than 225 and is the largest organization in Sri Lanka formed to represent a wider section of music artistes. Veterans like Pandith W.D. Amaradeva, Sangeeth Nipun Sanath Nandasiri, Dr. Dayaratne Ranatunga, Kalasoori Lata Walpola, Visharada Nanda Malini and Victor Ratnayake are among the pioneers of this organization.

The main objective of “OSCA Ridma Reyak” is to raise funds towards the Health and Life Insurance Schemes and a host of other welfare projects implemented for music artistes. Therefore this show not only provides an opportunity for Sri Lankan music lovers to enjoy high quality music, but also to contribute towards the welfare of their favourite artistes who have entertained them over the years.

Interestingly this year’s show will probably be a historical one because the organizers have planned to have only duets and no solos.

Among the artistes who are scheduled to perform at the Augusts 29 show are Pandit W.D. Amaradeva, Visharada Nanda Malini, Prof. Sanath Nandasiri, Visharada Edward Jayakody, Visharada Charitha Priyadarshani Peiris, Visharada Deepika Priyadarshani Peiris, Sunil Edirisinghe, Chandrika Siriwardane, T. M. Jayaratne, Malkanthi Nandasiri, Nelu Adhikari, Kapila Poogalaarachchi, Keerthi Pasqual, Pradeepa Dharmadasa, Dayan Vitharana, Visharada Rashmi Sangeetha, Sunil Perera, Nirosha Virajini, Visharada Samitha Mudunkotuwa, Lakshman Wijesekara, Visharada Mangalika Tennekoon, Harshana Dissanayake, Champa Kalhari, Upali Kannnangara, Suriyakumar Muttalage, Mohanraj Muthuswamy, S. Kalawathi, Kasun Kalhara, Mahesh Denipitiya, Kumari Munasinghe, Ranjani Perera, Anula Bulathsinhala, Menike Attanayake, Nissanka Diddeniya and others.

Addressing journalists at a recent news conference held at the Deshamanya H. K. Dharmadasa Auditorium, the organizers said OSCA was also currently discussing the relevant authorities regarding the extension of time limits imposed on musical events and also other matters relating to intellectual property rights of music artistes.

Bandula Nanayakkarawasam has written the script for the show while Visharada Manoj Peiris will be in charge of the music orchestration. The Channa-Upuli dancing troupe will add colour to the dancing events, Susantha Nanayakkara will be charge of stage creations while ITN, Lakhanda, Vasantham FM and Vasantham TV will be the media sponsors.
