  • Amali says:

Meanwhile, Jacqueline Fernandez has recently signed her first Sri Lankan film Pravegaya. The former Miss Sri Lanka says, “I have always had lot of support from Sri Lanka and people have been very nice and supporting me here. There are lots of Bollywood fans there. Right now, our country is shaping up and our glamour and movie industry opening up. I want to be there..either to show support or be part of it some way.”

  • Sandamali says:

Production of Sadesh Kumar’s new Sinhala film – Pravegaya, has faced a standstill, ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ learns.

The situation has occurred after popular Sri Lanka beauty queen and rising Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez has failed to appear for scheduled shooting.

Though reports earlier claimed that Jacqueline has agreed to act in the film in return for a whopping Rs. 08 million, Indian media recently reported that Jacky is to do the film for free.

  • Gune says:

One of Sri Lanka’s biggest rock band, Bathiya & Santhush, has composed a song for the film and the makers want Jacqueline to be a part of the song too.

Pravegaya, which is a remake of the Indian superhit Polladhavan, starred Superstar Rajnikanth’s son in law – Dhanush and Divya Spandana.

Loosely based on ‘bicycle thieves’, the plot features Prabhu (Dhanush) – a happy-go-lucky middle class family guy who spends time playing carrom in the streets with his friends.

  • Manik says:

One day, when Prabhu questions his father’s responsibility towards his upbringing, his angry father gives Prabhu some of his savings and tells him to do something with his life.

Prabhu purchases a Bajaj Pulsar bike instead and finds a job.The bike eventually saves his life from a freak incident and gets lost, subjecting him to interminable anguish as he searches for his bike.

The film revolves around several incidents that occur as Prabhu comes into conflict with the underworld during his search.

The Sinhala remake will feature Hemal Ranasinghe as its male lead with Jackson Anthony as his brother, reports say.

The script is written by ‘Mahesh Rathsara Maddumaarachchi’, whose scripts include that of films King Hunther and Angelika as well as popular teledramas such as Pabalu and Ama.

Music for Pravegaya will be created by Sri Lanka’s popular pop duo, Bathiya and Santhush.

Sources say that they are to appear in the film as well.

The rest of the cast will include, Jaalath Manorathne, Jackson Anthony, Mahendra Perera, Sangeetha Weeraratne, Moreen Charuni, Tiron Michael, Janitha Wickremage, Hemantha Iriyagama, Saman Hemaratne, D.B. Gangodathenna and J Jeyin.
