Sri Lankan Cricketer Upul Chandana Releases His Song Album

1996 Cricket world cup winning team member and current Sri Lanka under 19 fielding coach Upul Chandana has released his debut song album. This CD has a song dedicated to Cricket, “thana nillen enna”. Upul says this song is a tribute to the Sri Lanka Cricket world cup 2011 team. This song has been written by Kalum Shrimal and Music is by Nawarathna Gamage. Akalanka Gamaga, Nawarathna Gamage, Champaka Ramanayaka, Athula Adikari appear in the song video and it has been directed by Wasantha Bandara Dukgannarala. Kumar Darmasena’s children, Hashan Thilakarathna’s sons, Upul’s son and Russel Arnold’s son also feature in this song.

Upul does not intend to become a regular singer and he loves to contribute to Sri Lanka cricket further as a fielding coach. Sri Lanka cricketers like Chaminda Vass, Sanath Jayasuriya, Champaka Ramanayaka, Rumesh Rathnayaka and Sidath Weththamuni are some other players who can sing.
