Sinhala Film Kupadiya – Story
The title itself is likely to make one flinch but at the same time draws curiosity. After a lapse of several years director Mario Jayatunga returned to the movie scene with Kupadiya,a film based on a real life experience.

The filmmaker who believes in the policy of introducing at least one new face to the silver screen through a creation will introduce two youngsters Ran Ruwan and Sanju Samarasinghe to cinema through his latest creation. He had earlier introduced new faces like Anusha Sonali in Nidi Yahana Gini Gani, Suresh Gamage in Salupata Ahasata, Gangu Roshana and Rizwan Fa in Samantha.

The cast of the movie Pictures by Saman Sri Wedage
The story is about a couple pining for a child. Jeevan Kumarathunga and Anoma Jinadari take on the lead roles backed by Sureni Senerath, Anusha Sonali, Sanju Samarasingha, Priyantha Wijekoon, Suri Illangakoon and Samanthi Lanerolle make up the rest of the cast. Kupadia is captured on camera by Nimal Nakandala. Nayana Hasantha is the art director while Dilruk Wijesakar is the make up artist.

Suneth Kelum is the music director. Chandani Hettiarachchi, Samitha Mudunkotuwa and Havi Susan will sing the background vocals of lyrics penned by Mahinda K. Premasiri and Nilar N. Cassim.

The story, dialogues and script are also by director Mario. The movie, a Supreme Films production, had concluded shooting in Katharagama. The team hopes to screen the movie at the end of July.
