Sumitra Peiries’ Ruwata Ruwak sinhala film shooting to begin in December

Sumitra Peiries, dubbed the poetess of Sinhala cinema, is to direct her tenth film, to be named ‘Ruwata Ruwak.’

On a story by Lester James Peiris, Tony Ranasinghe has written the script – which revolves around the life of a puppeteer.

Thuminda Dodantenna will play the main role, with a supporting cast that includes Jayalath Manoratne, Iranganie Serasinghe, Wasanthi Chaturani, Rohana Beddage, Roshan Pilapitiya and Saranga Disasekara.

Upali Perera will be the film’s assistant director, while camera direction is by Donald Karunaratne.

Music is by Nimal Mendis, while Ebert Wijesinghe contributes as the makeup artiste.

Shooting of ‘Ruwata Ruwak’ is due to begin in December.

Sumitra Peiris’ previous works include the enormously successful ‘Gehenu Lamai’, ‘Ganga Addara’, ‘Sakman Maluwa’, ‘Sagara Jalaya Madi Handuwa Oba Handa’, ‘Duwata Mawaka Misa’, ‘Loku Duwa’ and ‘Yahaluwo.’
