SLT-Mobitel has introduced Enterprise Premium Cloud, powered by Nutanix, at Lanka Tech Summit 2026 in Colombo, Daily FT reported on 23 September.

The service is aimed at organisations considering a mix of local and cloud infrastructure for their business applications.

What the company is offering

According to the launch report, the platform is hosted in SLT’s Tier III data centres and is positioned for hybrid and multi-cloud use. The companies highlight workload mobility, disaster recovery and business continuity among its intended uses.

These are descriptions of the offering made in the launch announcement. Sandeshaya has not independently benchmarked its performance or availability.

Start with the business requirement

For a prospective customer, the useful starting point is the application and the service it supports. A business-critical system may raise different questions from an experimental development environment.

Before migration, decision-makers will need clear answers about support responsibilities, backup arrangements, recovery objectives and the full cost of operation. They should also establish how data and applications can be moved if their requirements change.

What remains to be assessed

The announcement adds a locally hosted option to the enterprise technology conversation. It does not by itself establish which package is appropriate for a particular organisation.

Published service terms, a suitable technical assessment and evidence from a relevant trial would give customers a firmer basis for comparison. The practical value will depend on how the service performs against the workload and continuity needs that a business actually has.
